Five Blogging Tips
Blogging has emerged as a platform where people can socialize and share their ideas. It wasn’t too long ago where people wrote personal diaries; today this is replaced by personal blogs. News blogs are professional versions where journalists have started writing blog stories and get input from their readers in the form of comments. Giving them a feedback to improve and about their interests. The world around is changing to accommodate blogging as a culture. Though blogging is a free style of writing there are still some of the aspects attached to it, to make it an interesting one.
First blogging tip is to identify who is your potential audience? Who are you writing a blog for? Thousands of blogsites are made daily with a prime motive of earning through affiliate marketing. They fail too often! The reason being they were too quick to become greedy. They never had an idea as to what was their offering and for whom were they writing the content. Therefore identify your niche and segment your audience. Segmenting based on demographics – area, age, sex etc is a good option. If it is a technological blog segmenting on the basis of education would be advisable. A proper segmentation helps in marketing your blog.
Second blogging tip is to design user friendly blog using a simple and yet effective theme. You can easily download blog themes and get set going. Conduct research on the theme, read its user reviews to understand the consensus. It should have sharing capabilities. It should be rich in multimedia – able to embed videos, images and high resolution graphics etc. Tweaking a theme to suit your business requirement can become tough; hiring a professional is not a bad idea to address this challenge.
Thirdly, you should listen to the beat of the market and react. Writing monotonous blogs will not generate sizeable amount of traffic for your site. Therefore, generate some controversy on your blog. You can write on off-beat topics and draw more attention from visitors. Give them something to discuss about and share with their friends and colleagues. Also ensure that your content is genuine and unique. And not copied from websites. People are only interested in unique and informative content.
Fourthly, don’t end up becoming a lethargic blogger. One thing which is constant in this world is change. So change the content of your blog too time and again. You can set a frequency of number of new posts per day and work according to your plan. If you can’t devote time daily to your blog, WordPress can help you on this too. With its Publish in a future date option, you can key in the content of your blog and it will be published on a future date, set by you.
And lastly, don’t be too greedy too soon. If you are considering earning through your blog through affiliate marketing, it may take time. For initial months earning could be as low as 5-10 cents. In order to boost up your earnings you have to market your blog pretty well through backlinks, bookmarks and SEO management. Gradually your PR and earnings will increase.
